find_mode {lazy.irt}R Documentation

Find the mode of icrf

Description

Find the mode of icrf

Usage

find_mode(param, print = 0)

Arguments

param

Item Paramter Data Frame

print

= 1 to print the result

Details

When item type is "P", the original step parameter b_k is the intersection of P_k-1 and P_k, k=1,2,...,ncat-1.
When item type is "G" , the mode of P_k is given as (b_k+b_k+1)/2 .
Note that, b_k is stored as p_k+1 in the param data frame since p_1 is always the slope.
The modes of type "P" items and the intersections of type "G" or "B3" items are found numerically.

The numerical root finding may result in an error.

Value

A data frame of nitem x max(ncat) consisting of name, type, ncat and the modes corresponding to the 0-th, 1st, 2nd, ..., and ncat-th category.
Note that the first (0) and the last (ncat) columns are filled with NAs.

Examples

mode <- find_mode( paramS1, print=1 )
